Store owner, Keturah Ford, is an experienced educator who has worked with a diverse population of students since 2007. She partly attributes her prior experience (2002-2007) in the field of social services (family support worker/case manager) to her success in the classroom. She has taught and tutored in K-12 education, adult literacy, English as a Second Language, and GED programs housed in community college, correctional, public school, and community-based settings. She has written curriculum for adult literacy programs and has witnessed hundreds of students obtain their high school credential, enter college, and/or improve their basic skills. She was also very active in helping to train new GED teachers while helping to bring fresh ideas to adult literacy programs who were looking to improve their program models. After obtaining her Masters Degree in Education in 2012, she went on to teach College Math and College Success to first-year college students. She is honored to still be in contact with many of her former students who have successfully graduated from their programs of study. Just when Keturah was about to seek admission to Temple University’s Doctoral program in 2013, a beautiful miracle showed up – her first child. She never looked back : ) These days, as a speaker and blogger, Keturah is also a busy mom to a “spunky” 2.5 year old girl. She thoroughly enjoys spending quality time with her husband and daughter, visiting new restaurants, traveling, baking scrumptious cookies, and volunteering at church.
