TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I started my teaching career off in the fourth grade for two years. I absolutely loved working in the upper grades. I moved my third year of teaching and I am currently working as a kindergarten teacher. If you asked me to choose which I love better I would never be able to tell you, both grades are wonderful! I also work with an after-school tutoring program for 3rd-5th grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My expectations for my students are extremely high. I want them to be independent learners who are kind and compassionate. In our classroom we have a very rigorous routine but at the same time I teach my students that life and learning are fun. We don't color inside the lines 100% of the time, we don't sit in our seats most of the day...we are up and moving. Music is also a large component in our classroom. Make learning fun!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was chosen to attend the Ron Clark Academy for 3 days to learn about their philosophy on education and to observe their teachers in action.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I am licensed to teach K-6 and I also hold my ESL license.
