TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My name is Amie and I created Glitter Meets Glue Designs in the Fall of 2012 out of a love of teaching Art as well as graphic arts. My store showcases glitter clipart for elementary and middle school students in a range of content areas including Art, Math, Science, Music, ELA, Technology, and Social Studies. I also have art lessons and projects as well as video tutorials for arts integration in the classroom.

Currently, I’m in my 19th year of teaching Art to elementary and middle school-aged students. During my first three years of teaching, I taught art at the local YMCA. And it was the summer of my first year of teaching that I started my first online business. I parlayed my skills in art, design, and education to create free online tutorial videos. Teaching and learning have been passions of mine that I've practiced both in and out of the classroom. And I love sharing all that I create with others. Nothing gets me more excited than knowing educators all over the world are using my resources in their classrooms. It’s a very humbling experience to know that I can touch so many lives.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Creative by nature. Constructivist by choice. I prefer to be the guide on the side helping students learn and refine their artistic abilities. I believe that all people have the ability to be creative and express themselves. I approach all learning from that point of view. I encourage my students to think for themselves but give them the proper structure to form their thoughts, opinions, and theories on art making and creation in general.
