TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm in my 18th year of teaching art to elementary and middle school-aged students. I've taught students from ages pre-K to 12th grade. I'm currently teaching K - 8th. During my first three years of teaching, I taught art at the local YMCA. And it was the summer of my first year of teaching that I started my first online business. I parlayed my skills in art, design, and education to create free online tutorial videos. Teaching and learning has been a passion of mine that I've practiced both in and out of the classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Creative by nature. Constructivist by choice. I prefer to be the guide on the side helping students learn and refine their artistic abilities.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

• Teacher of the Year, 2003 • Rated "highly effective" (Charlotte Danielson model) 2015; 2016
