I have taught numerous Social Studies courses for the past 15 years. I have been blessed to be at the same school the entire time and spent my first 10 years in our Freshman Academy. Around 8 years in I was getting the itch to add in a new course so I was able to bring AP Psychology to our school. The whole reason I teach AP Psychology is because I wanted to have another opportunity to have my students again and I wanted to challenge myself. I have taught AP Psychology for the past 6 years and I have also taught U.S. History, General Psychology, and Sociology. I love getting to mix things up and learn new topics. I am passionate about teaching and I am continually motivated to find new ways I can teach and make learning engaging.
I like to incorporate creativity and various activities when possible. I like to mix it up where one day it might be an activity, the next it might be stations, some days it is notes, and sometimes it is independent learning. I like to keep my kids on their toes so they don't know what to expect when they walk in the classroom.
Completed my Masters program with a 4.0
Masters in Secondary Education from the University of Kentucky
I love teaching, but first and foremost, I am there for my students. They encourage me daily to give my best and look for ways to make education fun and challenging. I love the moments of seeing students "getting it" and students enjoying the lessons.
