I teach Chinese to 9th through 12th grade in a Long Island school district. Prior to that, I was a third grade dual Language teacher in a New York City public school. I also served as a writing club facilitator for the New York City Writing Project program and a bilingual coach for Teachers College, Columbia University. In addition, I was a research assistant at the Center for Applied Linguistics, where I worked with several linguistic experts to initiate the Students Oral Proficiency Assessment (SOPA) for Mandarin in Washington D.C., and I also has taught in Chinese immersion programs for private schools in New York City.
I teach with my HEART! (H=humor, E=enthusiasm, A=art, R=resource, T=Technology)
"I have so much fun in your classroom!" I am honored by my students when they enjoy learning. "Thank you for providing useful materials to us!" My award is other teachers' appreciation of my work, because I know teachers also should have a life outside of the classroom. I want to offer them the materials that they need so they can spend more time with their friends and family.
I earned my first M.A. of Curriculum and Instruction and my second M.S. of Early Childhood Education and Special Education (Birth-2nd Grade).
During my free time, I love to travel, dream and write. The name of my store is based on my son's Chinese name. He is my inspiration and motivation for the store and I want to give 10% my profits from the store to a children's charity.
