I started my career as an Early Childhood teacher many years ago around different regions in Spain, teaching Spanish and English to 3-6 year old children. Since 2008 I teach English, and Science in English language to first and second graders in a bilingual school in Madrid.
I frequently use different techniques in my classroom, such as direct instruction with frequent breaks, authentic math tasks, foldables, hands-on and discovery activities.
None yet, but I am sure they are coming soon!! ;-)
I have two Bachelor Degrees: one in Elementary Education and another one in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. In addition to those I have completed several courses on a wide variety of educational issues and methodologies related to gifted students, literacy development in early childhood, reading disabilities, and second language acquisition and development.
I have been lucky enough to travel to many different countries in Europe and America, and experience different cultures and perspectives on education. I also lived in the US for almost 4 years. That was before returning to Spain and adding another full-time job to my life: mother of twins, a boy and a girl.
