My experience is teaching yoga, dance and art to children in after school enrichment, during the school day, at community centers, and at my own children's yoga and dance studio that I opened in 2015 in California called Grace and Zen. I have worked with children as young as 1.5, up to high school level in public and private school settings. I have taught yoga to special needs students from ages 7 to 22 in a private special needs school setting, and have had many children in a variety of classes who are on the autism spectrum, have ADD, sensory processing disorder, attention seeking behaviors, and much more. I love to connect on a personal level with my students and be available as a positive adult in their life in addition to their parents. I started as a children's dance teacher who had a love for yoga. I started incorporating some simple breathing breaks in my dance classes when the kids would get overly excited, and I quickly realized how effective yoga was for children. I dove into teaching kid's yoga and learning everything about it I could. I read all the books, went to trainings, read as much as I could online, but most importantly I've taught thousands of classes now with thousands of children, giving me amazing hands on experience.
I take a soft, loving approach when teaching, while remaining firm and setting clear ground rules at the start of each class to make sure classes can run smoothly.
