I am currently teaching in Boston Public Schools as a SEI Kindergarten teacher. However, I have been teaching young children for over 15 years. From after school programs, tutoring, play groups, childcare and Boston Public Schools, my love of teaching and experiences has no bound. My vast experience with working with students in a variety of settings has afforded me the opportunity to gain many strategies and skills to use with my students. My experience has also help me develop creative and developmentally appropriate teaching products and resources.
Play, Play, Play!!! I am a true believer that learning through play is the best way to teach young children. Thus my teaching approach, style, pedagogy and products all revolve around games and making learning fun.
I am a published children's author. A POSSE and Summer Scholar recipient.
As a POSSE scholar I was awarded a scholarship to Bowdoin College where I received a double major in Sociology and Women's Studies with a minor in Dance and Creative Writing. I also Graduated with a Master's in Early Childhood Education at University of Massachusetts Boston and currently pursuing a PHD in Education.
Along with being a kindergarten teacher, I am also married with two children. I love to read, crochet and when I have time work on my children's book.
