I have taught at the preschool level for around 2 years and am excited to seek out positions at the elementary level. I have worked as a student volunteer and student teacher for 3 years in college at the elementary level.
As I teach, I feel that I learn just as much as my students - they are always helping me to see the best ways to reach them! I believe in using a variety of approaches to ensure that all students' needs are being met. I believe in differentiating materials, using standards to inform instruction, and applying what we learn in the classroom to the "real world."
- UMass Amherst Commonwealth Honors College Capstone Research Project, Spring 2014 - "Teaching With Technology: Project Based Research in Elementary Mathematics" - Was asked by a student "When can I do this again?" after teacher a lesson as a student teacher!
My favorite school subjects are trigonometry and poetry. I have always loved being in school, and I am so glad that I am finally a licensed elementary teacher! I am a recent graduate of UMass Amherst and received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English in May 2014.
