Math, math, and more math! I started out as a middle school math teacher and also taught a little high school math before taking the role of the district middle school math specialist. Recently, I returned to the classroom part time to teach 2nd and 3rd grade math.
Students in my classroom learn math through problem-based learning. During the initial instruction, you will see a lot of cooperative work and rich discussions taking place. I also believe that students should have plenty of opportunity to practice those skills through engaging centers and games. Much of my work on the TPT site will be the center activities that I created for use in my own classroom.
The highlight was being named a co-presenter at the National Staff Development Council (NSDC) Conference for my work on math coaching.

As a mom of two boys (one of who was in my class last year!), I've learned that sports-themed center games are a hit.
