TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for a while and have taught a number of subjects under the umbrella of Language Arts. My primary focus now is 9th grade LA, including Honors, and I also advise and teach Yearbook. I have taught High School Composition, Film Studies, World Literature, and American Literature in the past as well.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching relies on collaboration heavily, both in the classroom and with my colleagues. Cooperative grouping is an important part of what I do, but I also utilize teacher-centered activities and student-centered (individual) activities as well. Movement in the form of games or stations are also used a lot in my teaching.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a BS in Communication Arts and Literature and a Minor in Spanish. I also studied web design and film in college. I am currently training to be a professional developer in the SIM Learning Strategies.
