My first year of teaching was completed on St. Lawrence Island, located just off of the coast of Alaska. During my time in the Native Yupik village of Gambell I was responsible for teaching the content of reading to middle school as well as high school students. Upon my return to the lower forty eight I accepted a position teaching English to tenth and eleventh grade students, in what has been dubbed as the Low Country segment of South Carolina. Most recently, I have taught in Western North Carolina since 2010. I am currently the junior and senior English teacher as well as department head. At our school students are required to complete an extensive senior exit project. I will make every attempt to get our module uploaded for your future perusal .
My classroom is dynamic. I try to incorporate evenly between a constructivist approach combined with the more traditional direct instruction method. I believe that in part this helps accommodate for diverse learners.

My wife is a fourth grade teacher. We are expecting identical twin girls in November. Thus, my presence on this website as an effort to supplement my family's income. My wife will be creating her own profile relatively soon. Should you find that you like assignments or resources that I have to offer be sure to check out my wife's page. She is much more brilliant than I am. I have found that admitting this fact is one of the many keys to a happy marriage. Have a great day!
