TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a primary school teacher for 25 years. During the past 10 years I have been an art specialist, teaching all classes from Year 1 to year 6.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am passionate about art, therefore motivating children is a pleasure. I provide clear scaffolded lessons, which eliminates potential "I can't draw" comments. I'm not here to beautify a classroom. I teach art skills and art processes. Beautiful results are a bonus.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was nominated for a NZ teacher excellence award.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Primary teaching diploma, Certificate of display and advertising, Diploma of art and creativity.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have been recording my art lessons for 10 years for my own reference. Always in the back of my mind I felt there had to be a way of sharing them without an expensive outlay. I think this is the forum. I am a part time artist, art teacher, mother of two now adults and married to James the adventurer.
