TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Matt has been a 7th and 8th grade ELA teacher in Los Angeles and Washington D.C. since 2004. Rob has taught grades 6,7,9 and 10 as a Reading and Writing Special Education teacher since 2010 in Washington D.C. They currently are in their 3rd year of co-teaching 7th grade literacy together at E.L. Haynes Public Charter School.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Matt and Rob are highly training in both the Readers and Writers Workshop Model and Engage NY curricula. Matt and Rob also use Assistive Technology, Accelerated Reader, guided reading, book clubs, Independent Reading daily in their classes.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Matt was recognized for being in the 95th percentile amongst all ELA teachers in Washington D.C. for his students' performance on the 2014 D.C. CAS.

Matt lives with his wife and newborn son and enjoys bicycling, cooking, reading, and the occasional game of tennis against Rob. Rob hails from New York City and enjoys beating Matt at tennis.
