TEACHING EXPERIENCE

25 + years teaching and still loving it!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach 1:1, as well as small groups and whole classes. I use whatever strategies, approaches, techniques and materials will help fit the needs of my students. In whole class literacy block, we follow Lucy Calkins' approach to readers and writers workshops. In small group and 1:1, I teach with an eclectic variety of programs and approaches-- incorporating Leveled Literacy Instruction and Orton-Gillingham as the basis for my instruction; plus a ginormous helping of praise and positive reinforcement!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My most rewarding moments are when a child comes up to me and asks if we can "read that book again"!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

~Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education ~Masters Degree in Education ~Elementary Endorsement for K-6 ~Reading Specialist Endorsement for K-12 ~Orton-Gillingham Associate Level Certificate, A/AOGPE
