GROWING SOUND is proud to announce the work of DAVID KISOR (And Friends). David is an accomplished singer, songwriter, composer, performer and teacher. He is presently the Creative Director and Lead Trainer for Growing Sound (a nonprofit organization that develops research-based children's music and classroom activities that promote social and emotional learning) and has trained over 70,000 educators on how to use GROWING SOUND songs in the classroom. David also serve as Music Director for Children, Inc. in Covington, Kentucky serving Northern Kentucky families with preschool and elementary age children. Over the past twenty years David has written extensively for the classroom and the stage. He currently travels around the country training teachers and working with children on the power of music to build key social and emotional skills. His songs feature themes of hope, optimism, kindness, gratitude, confidence, creativity, curiosity, attachment, mindfulness, motivation, self-control and more. David holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelors of Music from the University of Miami. He has collaborated with early childhood professionals and Speech Pathologists to produce music for education and therapy. He also regularly present keynotes and workshop sessions in major educational conferences. David is a certified specialty trainer in early childhood for the State of Kentucky and is associated with the Devereux Regional Training Center which provides training in resilience to early childhood and mental health professionals. David Kisor has also produced songs for other GROWING SOUND artists including MARY HULEFELD (New Day) and DEMI MAYS (Dandelion).
GROWING SOUND and David Kisor both believe in looking at what we know about children's development from research and finding ways to apply this in the classroom. We believe in strength-based teaching and reinforcing the positive social-emotional potential already present within each child. At GROWING SOUND trainings, we utilize a combination of live music, classroom activities, powerpoint presentation, small group activities and videos.
