I have 25 years of teaching experience in grades K-2 and 4-6 in Mississippi and Tennessee. I am a 5th grade social studies teacher, a PLC leader, a mentor, a substitute after school tutor, and a 5th grade social studies standards facilitator for the TDOE. I spend countless hours creating lessons that motivate my students to become active participants in their own learning. Teaching is my calling, and I love the thrill of seeing my students fall in love with history and reach their full potential.
I believe that my role is to facilitate student-centered learning.
One of my highest honors is when a former student becomes an educator because of my influence.
I received my bachelors and masters in Elementary Education at Mississippi State University. I am an avid fan of my beloved Bulldogs. Experience and my students have been my greatest teachers. I am also forever grateful to teachers who have mentored and molded me into the teacher I am today.
Family is very important to me. I'm fortunate that all of my immediate family resides in the same county in TN. I'm a proud super aunt to 9 nieces and nephews. I'm also a proud mommy to three shih tzus: Bella, Benji, and Baby Anna.
