This school year is my tenth year teaching, and my second year in fourth grade. I'm excited to be sharing resources here and also work as an adjunct faculty member at Marlboro College here in Vermont.
I believe that students learn best when lessons are: - clearly structured - engaging and relevant on a personal level for students - challenging enough for all learners - clear in purpose (why are we doing this?). My classroom is a mix of teacher led mini-lessons, project-based learning, and technology integration. We certainly have days when I have to do much of the talking, but we learn just as much from each other. I work primarily with two sets of standards: CCSS and NGSS.

I feel very lucky to have the job of being creative and working with awesome, overly self-conscious, highly entertaining pre-teens everyday. I am a married mama of three little boys (2, 7, and 9), and enjoy lots of things that I have almost no time for (kayaking, hiking, guitar, singing, reading, cooking)... so I guess I have a lot to catch up on in my retirement years!
