I have been teaching AP Human Geography, AP US History, AP World History and AP Government since fall 2014 at one of the top college prep high schools in the country. I have also graded APHG Free Response Questions for the College Board for repeated sequential years.
My classes are all lecture based, as I teach at a college preparatory high school. For AP Human geography, I divide the year into 7 units, utilizing the College Board topics. Each unit is comprised of a quiz, an unit exam, and a FRQ, relevant to the material in the unit. The material follows James Rubenstein's The Cultural Landscape textbook. For AP U.S. History, we have 10 units. I use John Garraty and Eric Foner's textbooks to prepare the class. For AP World History, I use The Earth and Its Peoples.
