With almost 17 years of teaching K-8, I have experience in the classroom as well as a specialist.
According to http://www.gotoquiz.com, My teaching style is... entertaining, stimulating, dramatic, enthusiastic, flexible, persuasive, and expressive. Students in my class feel inspired, motivated, enthusiastic, welcome, challenged, and engaged. At times I may talk too much, gloss over certain points, lose objectivity, and want to be popular. I need to be sure I control my talking and time, and objectives. I need to spend more time checking, specifying, and organizing! Basically I love to make learning fun for kids!
No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave. -Calvin Coolidge
When I graduated from college in 1993 I went to work in fortune 500 companies. Feeling there was more to life than pushing papers I went back to school and became an educator. I started my teaching career in a high needs area as an Elementary Spanish teach in 2001. From there I went to work as a migrant Bilingual teacher and then on to assist an ESOL teacher. In October of 2004, I became employed in a charter school where I began as the Spanish/Gifted teacher. Then I moved into just teaching Spanish. In 2009 at the same school I switched and taught 4th grade for 2 years, then 5th grade then back to 4th grade. With almost 17 years experience I have learned a lot. All of which I plan to share.
My time as a teacher has come to an end. I am now moving towards making a positive impact on new teachers and women. As a Happiness Coach and Laughter Facilitator, I strive to work on encouraging others to be happy. I coach teachers on the things you didn't learn in college, like how to manage your time now that you have a husband, and/or baby. I also coach teachers that don't have a mentor during their first 2 years teaching and guide the experienced teacher through a new place of employment.
