TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 27 years. I have just left teaching middle school for 16 of those years and am back in Elementary in First Grade! So excited to be back with the little people again! :) I graduated with an M.Ed. in Elementary and Middle Grades Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Florida with honors. I have taught multiple subject areas and many grade levels from Pre K- 8th grade. I began teaching in elementary school, where I taught pull-out remedial classes for grades 2-5 and a section of K-1. Then I taught Pre-K for 5 years, and then Middle School, where I have been in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Now I am excited to be in Grade 1! I've also lived in many different countries. I learned to speak Spanish at the age of 9 when my family lived in Spain. My best experience, of course, has been being a mother and a grandmother to wonderful children and grandchildren. I love making products that will help teachers teach and students learn! I am currently certified in Elementary Education; Middle Grades in the areas of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies; endorsed as a Teacher Support Specialist; a Reading Specialist K-12, and in Gifted and Talented Education. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow me on Facebook at The HappyEdugator on Facebook. -------------------------------------- Follow me on Instagram at happyedugator.------------------------------------------------------ Follow me on Pinterest at HappyEdugator.-------------------------------------------------------- Follow my blog at: The HappyEdugator.----------------------------------------------

MY TEACHING STYLE

I try to make everyday an unforgettable day! I make every effort to appeal to a variety of learning styles, so that students can stay focused and engaged in learning. Children should walk away from my classroom with a love for reading and a hunger for learning something new everyday.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

M.Ed., Graduated with honors from the University of Florida. 27 total years of teaching experience, from Pre-K through 8th grade.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Although I have many students, I have two children of my own, along with two grandchildren. My daughter, 35, has a little 3 year old boy. She has become a renowned chef, and just opened her own restaurant in Port Townsend, Washington. My son is 34 and is currently working as a CNC programmer, and also lives in Seattle. I am enjoying being the grandmother of his sweet little boy, too, who is in first grade! I have just recently relocated from Georgia to Seattle to be close by them! My husband and I love the outdoors, and we have two dogs: a lab mix and a border collie/dachshund mix, who are both spoiled rotten. We plan on retiring someday in Florida and traveling during the hot summer months. If you find a typo or something I need to fix in a resource, please contact me via Q and A, and let me know before leaving a negative rating. I will try to fix mistakes within 48 hours, and usually much sooner.
