By Having Fun First * I have taught for over 14 years. * I have experience in both 1st and 2nd grade * I have served as the 504 Monitor for my school (K-5) * I have served as one of the Culturally Responsive Teacher facilitators for our district in charge of presenting strategies and learning to our staff. * Creator and lead, of the "Sensory Space" at my school. (A library of resources to support all styles of learners that are available to staff to check out and use within their own classrooms)
I like to have fun while learning with my students. Engagement is my goal to keep kids learning and hard behaviors at a minimum. There is a fun and interesting way to learn almost everything, so differentiation is key. The most important part of my day is to make sure all my kids feel unique, supported and important. I try my best to make connections with students daily, whether it is academically or in support of their social skill development. I also believe strongly in the value of home to school communication and I try to offer extensions to home in many of my resources.

When I develop curriculum my focus is differentiation and engagement. I want to help teachers meet the needs of our diverse learners. Helping teachers meet the standards in unique and realistic ways is a priority of mine.
