TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 9 years, and have taught a host of grade levels and subjects! I have taught 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 7th grades! Each grade has provided me with a unique opportunity for growth and I have learned countless lessons along the way. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and all subjects. A love new challenges and LOVE creating products that help make my job just a little easier, and learning a tad more fun and effective for my kiddos!

MY TEACHING STYLE

The word I would choose to describe my teaching style is adaptable! In today's teaching world, being adaptable is a must! I adapt to the demands that are placed on us from above, but most importantly adapt to the needs of the students in my classroom on a daily basis.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My name is Whitney Nelson and I am a wife, a mother, and a teacher! It is safe to say I have my plate pretty full, as well all do! I have taught 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 7th grade! I have a passion for learning and consider myself a lifelong learner. My students teach me more than I could ever teach them. If you are a teacher today, you know our days are filled with countless hours preparing imaginative and inquisitive lessons, grading paper, filling out paperwork, contacting parents, meeting about planning, prepping for countless standardized tests, etc. We know that our "to-do" list is NEVER done! As the demands of teaching become more and more; available time becomes less and less. I am by no means an expert, but I do have a lot of experience. I want to share some of the things that have made my life as a teacher a little easier as well as the countless stories that make it all worth it! My students’ stories inspire me. Their faces make me laugh when I am feeling down. Their desire to learn continues to push me to be the best I can be. It is an honor to be a teacher, and it is an honor to be a mother. I am blessed beyond measure to have been given the opportunity to be both!
