I have been in the classroom now for (gulp!) 20 years. I have taught 3rd, 5th, and 1st grades. The last 15 years of my career have been spent among first graders and I couldn't be happier. I have worked as a peer mentor, a team leader, a curriculum and assessment writer, and have attended more trainings than I can remember!
We are busy, busy, busy in our classroom. We sing, act, draw, build, write, read, discuss, dance, etc. during our important time together. I try to teach with my heart in my hand each day and I strive to be my best for my students.
I graduated with honors as an undergrad and from graduate school. I was surprised to earn the Teacher of the Year award in 2013-2014 at my current school.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Supervision from Northern Illinois University as well.
I have a wonderful husband (also an educator) and two children I adore! I love God, my family, my career, music, art, cooking, gardening, and of course, READING!
