I have taught at the high school level for 13 years. I have my National Boards in Health Education and a graduate degree in Health Education. In the past five years, I helped to write the benchmarks and objectives for high school health education within my school district and created lessons and assessments to be used by teachers within the district. Along with Health/PE, I teach Sport Medicine and Physical Conditioning.
My lessons are relevant, engaging and student-centered. They challenge students to interact with the content and relate it to their own lives. My teaching style motivates and challenges teens to live healthy lives. There are embedded video clips and pictures to appeal to the visual learner. I color code information on the PowerPoint slides so that students can distinguish between test content and other thought provoking information.
