I have experience in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade classrooms. I also have experience as both EL pull out and self-contained classrooms. I have 3 years classroom experience in 3rd grade. I currently teach K-5 EL students at 10 elementary schools in my district.
I am a constructivist at heart. I feel that students learn their best when their hands are moving and their minds moving. I find complete value in students taking control of their education. I love all things Reggio Emilia and Montessori. My goal is to have all materials accessible to my students. What is mine is theirs and it is all to help them learn.
I graduated with an Indiana Core 40 Academic Honors Diploma. I was on Dean's List at Saint Mary's College Fall of 2009, Spring of 2011, and Spring of 2012.
I am a product of public education and I now work to show my appreciation of public education. I went to a large public school in Northern Indiana. I graduated in the top 25% of my class of 1000 in high school. I went to a small private, all women's college in Northern Indiana. I was a part of many clubs and participated in many service programs while in college. I had over 700 hours of classroom observation and experience while in college.
I am a new teacher ready to take on the education world. I want to show that anything you can do, I can do in my room, too. Our kids all have the ability to learn ANYTHING we give to them, as long as we give them the tools and information necessary. My goal is to help give you those tools you need!
