I am in my 11th year of teaching math and have been tutoring math for 13 years. Over the years, I have taught eighth grade math, algebra, geometry, algebra II, and pre-calculus and have tutored elementary math through pre-calculus. I have experience in teaching in both a traditional classroom and in an online environment. Based on my experience in the online teaching environment, I have also authored the ebook "So, You Want to Teach in Your Pajamas."
I enjoy creating and using lessons that help my students discover various rules and properties in order to help them better remember what they learn. I also enjoy using many real-life examples and applications in my lessons and often times try to give my students some flexibility/options within lessons/projects so they can better apply the material more directly to their personal interests, lives, and goals. I also like to attend both state and national council of teachers of mathematics meetings whenever possible to continually learn about mathematics and new ideas for teaching mathematics.
