I have been working with young people with disabilities since 1996 and teaching special education since 1998. I have taught all ages from pre-school to post-graduates, and a wide variety of ability levels. I am currently the post-graduate (18-22-year-old) Transition Program teacher at our high school. I have been in this specific role for the past 6 years and it is my favorite. I love teaching these amazing young adults about real-life, household skills, self-advocacy, and vocational skills.
I love fun, hands-on activities. My students learn best by doing. They have been in school for at least 15 years by the time they get to my class, and they are tired of sitting at a desk doing worksheets.
