Lombard Elementary School District 44, Illinois: 2002 - present Elementary Physical Education and Health Teacher at 5 schools within the school district. I have played both a traveling role as well as a single school role, and I have team taught as well as taught individually throughout the years. I also organize and lead various before and after school clubs for the students such as Games Galore and Kid’s Choice Clubs.
I created activate2educate because I believe that we, as educators, must ACTIVATE the bodies of our students through movement in order to EDUCATE their minds. My activity book, Active Body Systems & Nutrition: Keeping Kids Active While Learning Essential Cross-Curricular Concepts, showcases all-inclusive activities that educators can incorporate into their teaching with ease. This activity book, with the help of the a2e curriculum cards, activity signs and body posters, will allow educators to provide their students with an education like no other - maintaining movement, fitness and fun all while teaching important concepts such as body systems and nutrition. And that’s not all! Educators will also be seamlessly incorporating cross-curricular concepts like literacy and math in these SAME activities without giving up their precious Physical Education time. Students have the ability to leave their Elementary P.E. experience with more knowledge than ever before! Educators will not only learn new strategies and teaching methods to incorporate these key concepts, but they will also have the ability to purchase an entire activate2educate curriculum (activity book, curriculum cards/activity signs and body posters). These materials have been student-tested and approved! Let’s continue to move Physical Education in the right direction as we educate the WHOLE child - body and mind!
