TEACHING EXPERIENCE

20 years of teaching middle school history, language arts, and drama while developing and teaching a leadership curriculum. Author and director of fifteen full-length plays and numerous skits. Costume design and wardrobe mistress for professional theatre. Lived three years in Spain; now travel Europe and the US developing and teaching historical itinerary to students. Author of "All the World's My Stage," a collection of three 90 minute historical dramas for young adults including research, standards, vocabulary and supplemental materials.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I will try pretty much any and everything to engage and motivate middle school students. History is a story; language arts is necessary to understand and communicate stories; drama enables students to internalize stories; and ethical leadership is essential because how you live your story affects the world.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BA (magna cum laude) in English Newberry College. Innumerable workshops, seminars, professional development courses and IB training. A life-long learner with my latest certificate in 2013 from Harvard GSE in "Arts and Passion Driven Learning."
