I have been a special education teacher since 2013. I have taught in classrooms for students with intellectual disabilities and in a cross-categorical setting. My current teaching assignment is in a co-taught 8th grade math classroom that serves students with and without disabilities.
I believe in a leveled approach to education that meets the needs of all students within the classroom. My notecards have been designed to provide the "need to know" information that is necessary to access higher level thinking questions. In today's modern age of learning, students have so much information at their fingertips. I don't believe in making students memorize equations, since most adults look up whatever information they don't know on the internet. My notecards are designed to provide access to math problems to all students, while requiring the student to determine how to use the information provided. Within my classroom, students are allowed to use their notecards on all assignments, notes, and assessments.
