TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught in 4th grade and 1st grade classrooms, but my true calling lies in the Preschool/Kindergarten realm. In 2015, I had the opportunity to develop my own Preschool curriculum for a new program in a rural public school. I have been tweaking this curriculum ever since, for my variety of students and their needs/interests! I hope that some of my resources can help you in your classroom or with your kiddos at home!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use Love and Logic in my classroom to encourage my kiddos to take responsibility for themselves. This means that I try to give 99.9% of choices when things are going well and when they're not going well, I use empathy and consequences. Our classroom is a great example of organized chaos... where songs are used frequently as attention getters and transition cues. We discover, laugh, play, learn, and bond together each day.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have two rescue cats whom I love dearly: Sienna (a beautiful but snarky Calico) and Stieg (a loving but spacey tuxedo cat). I spend my summers reading in my hammock, playing Ultimate Frisbee, and hiking/camping. During the school year, I play trivia, develop new activities for my classroom, and spend WAY too much at the Target dollar section.
