TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 15 years experience in education as a classroom teacher in grades 6-12 at both public and private schools in Missouri and in administration. I spent 2 years as a math consultant and am now serving as a Principal. I also have experience teaching mathematics at the college level. My pet peeve is teaching students the "tricks" of mathematics before they understand the concept behind the "trick".

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have a student centered approach that includes project based learning and technology integration. I prefer to teach in small chunks with plenty of think time and student investigation. Mathematics is my specialty from middle school up through college.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My awards have been given from my former students who looking back on their elementary/middle school years chose to honor me with a Caring Hands Award and an All-Star Teacher Award.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelor's in Middle School Math Education and am certified in the state of Missouri in mathematics grades 5-12. I hold a Master's in Gifted Education and am certified in the state of Missouri for grades K-12. I hold a second Master's in Educational Administration.
