TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught k-12 English as a Second Language for almost seven years. In that time I have done pull-out, co-teaching, self-contained classrooms, and special programs.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to make SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) friendly lessons as I believe they benefit both EL and native English speakers. I try to include as much speaking, listening, reading, and writing into all of my lessons.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have received my district's Culture of Excellence award as well as a commendation from Texas for my work with migrant students.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have an undergraduate degree in linguistics, and I received my k-12 ESL and Elementary Education licenses through my graduate work, prior to completing my MAESL.
