TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught 9th, 10th, and 11th grade high school English for the past 11 years. All of my lesson plans are engaging, relevant, and standards-based. I am also a reading specialist and have designed many lesson plans to pinpoint specific skills needed to strengthen students' reading comprehension.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Students need to be interested in what they are learning. I work hard everyday to connect content to the students' lives. With that said, my lessons weave modern concepts into the mandated curriculum. I believe lesson plans should be simple, and easy for students to follow. I target mastery of the basics in order to scaffold to more complex, higher level concepts.
