TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been an English teacher since 1998. For my first five years I taught 8th grade Language Arts. Since 2003 I have been teaching juniors and seniors, including regular ed, college prep, and college English classes.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I try to incorporate humor, creativity and eccentricity while making my expectations as objective as possible. My goal is to challenge students to think for themselves while striving to succeed at meeting curriculum goals.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor of Science in Education from Ashland University; Master of Education from Wright State University

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I was spawned and currently live in Ohio. When I'm not infiltrating the system by teaching high school English, I'm usually writing. So far I've published one young adult novel (Hocus Focus), a graphic novel (Valedictorian USA: Vol. 1) a short story in a dystopian sci-fi anthology (Das Krakenhaus Publishing) called The End of the World as We Know It, a one-shot surrealist horror comic (Icon-O-Plastic), and I also have several ongoing comic book series (Valedictorian USA, Crackerstacker, and Zombie Fabulous!). In June of 2016 I published a hilarious prose memoir called Rebirth Defect: My Journey From Catholic Altar Boy to Teen Atheist to Adult Christian Metal Evangelist and Back to Atheism.
