I'm in my tenth year as an elementary music teacher. I currently teach kindergarten through fifth grade at two schools in Northwest Kentucky. My students sing, dance, move creatively, read, compose, play instruments, arrange and so much more! For the first four years of my teaching career, I also taught band at all levels. I led beginning band, middle school band, and assisted at the high school level.
My teaching style is heavily influenced by the Orff Schulwerk method. I've completed Level I and am looking forward to finishing Level II and Level III in the near future. I also think that John Feierabend's approach to music education is incredible. I have used many of his techniques and materials for years. I love using First Steps in Music with my younger students. It's made such an impact on our musical learning.
