TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I teach history and kids yoga (handstands!) have been a secondary social studies teacher in Arizona for 8 years. Three in high school and five in middle school. In the last eight years I have taught every branch of social studies- US and World history, Economics, Geography and Government. My favorite is teaching 6th grade World History. I also began teaching kids yoga (ages 4-14 mostly) and operate a small business teaching inclusive kids yoga.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to use a variety of teaching styles and activities to keep students on their toes! My classroom is an active learning environment and students have interactive notebooks, use cooperative learning strategies and do independent and group projects. I believe strongly in hands on learning with plenty of student engagement and critical thinking. I want my students to "DO" history!
