TEACHING EXPERIENCE

As of 2015, I have 24 years experience teaching high school history courses. SUNY Cortland grad 1991, C. Robert Clark Award winner for Outstanding Student Teacher, 1991. Masters of Arts (History) 1993 Full Time Social Studies Teacher 1993-Today Currently I teach AP US History and Dual Enrollment US History. I have taught World History I, World History II and Senior level Government as well.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use multiple strategies in the classroom. Lecture is used as a tool, but not the main tool. I believe in the use of many strategies such as: historical document analysis, manipulatives with cooperative learning, Socratic seminars, programmed reading packets, interactive powerpoints, pre-and post reading strategies, exit passes, gallery walks along with research projects/papers and the writing of book reviews.
