I taught high school history in public schools for eight years. Over the last eight years, I have been teaching junior high and high school history to homeschoolers in a university style program. It has taught me to become resourceful and creative with limited time and funds in an environment that mixes ages and abilities. I have recently started teaching World History AP full time at a local private school.
I like to vary my style. If I'm bored, then my students are bored. I use socratic seminars, hands-on activities, and technology to keep my students critically thinking throughout the year.

I was a feature writer for the Medical Journal Houston as well as an editor there for the past 8 years. I homeschooled my two children (9th and 6th) while teaching at a university style program for homeschoolers. Both now attend the private school with me and are enjoying the transition.
