TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Although I've taught all grade levels, my passion is high school history! Over the next few months, be on the look out for simple, but well-thought-out, lessons and materials that put the students in the driver's seat and make history come alive! I'm a new seller, but I have a lot to offer the TPT community. I look forward to working with as many people as possible in the coming months and beyond!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I'm a big believer in student-driven lessons that are less about lecturing and more about independent discovery. That is why many of my lessons follow a 15:30:5 format (15- to 20-minute Try Now and Introduction, 25- to 30-minute activity, and 5-minute Exit Ticket and/or Wrap-Up).

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I come to teaching as a second career. I am passionate about both teaching the material and connecting with my students. I have been fortunate to teach and substitute teach in several unique environments across the State of New York, including a high school in downtown Manhattan, several schools in Rockland County, and at a hospital in the Lower Hudson Valley area. In each of these environments, I strove to provide personalized and student-centered lessons. My areas of certification are Social Studies and Special Education.
