After 8 years of teaching social studies in public schools, I made the switch this year to a private school close to home. I've taught 9th through 12th, co-taught to Advanced Placement, and all of the core Social Studies classes (plus AP European History as an elective). I also served for four years as the Social Studies Department Chair and on the Social Studies Curriculum Team. With my recent switch to private school I have cleared my plate to get back to the [he]art of teaching and to share my passion for graphic design and creativity in the social studies classroom!
My teaching style is quirky, unique, and most of all creative. I love incorporating technology and graphic design into my classroom. I insist that my students are not defined by a test score, but rather by their academic and personal growth as a result of their experience in my classroom. I expect every student to talk every single day and I encourage them to [a]push themselves to become better versions of themselves.
