TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I completed my student teaching in Hawaii covering early US history with 8th graders and modern US history with 11th graders. I then went on to teach ancient world history (earliest man - 1600s) in South Carolina for 2 years in 6th grade. I am currently taking the school year off due to a military PCS to California, and what better time to work on my store! :)

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like for every lesson to be divided into segments of "you," "me," and "we," Some days have more of one than the other, but I think that in the hour I get to spend with my students, the time needs to allow for all of these. I truly enjoy discussions with my whole class, discussions in groups, and discussions with partners. In addition, everything in my classroom completed by students is either digital or it goes into their ISN. I do not take up papers, tests, essays, or any other assignments on paper. Everything I create will be for an ISN or a digital classroom (typically Google drive and Google classroom). Also, I fill in every single minute, as both a classroom management tactic, and to make sure I am making the most of the short time we are given with students as secondary educators. I think that this shows in my products, and I hope that you enjoy them!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was selected to participate in the district curriculum writing that occurs in the summer. We edited the curriculum maps for social studies, created common assessments for standard, advanced, ESOL, and SPED, and finally, ensured that the maps lined up to the state standards to help teachers plan for their year.
