TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have had 30+ years of experience as an educator, leader and creative force within the classroom. I am now using this experience through the creation and production of useful, meaningful and lasting programs.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style reflects who I am as a person. I believe that imagination is what makes us unique as human beings, so I transform my walls into “Billboards of Creative Learning,†filled with pictures and words that speak a thousand bits of knowledge. If I have fun teaching a lesson then my students will too so I try to shape many of my lessons around story drama for the purpose of capturing the imagination of the children and to create an environment where children want to learn. Most importantly I treat each child in my room with respect and kindness and where they can feel safe.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was publicly recognized for two of my achievements. One in particular I am most proud of as it was a play I had written to encourage students to get involved in the combat to fight bullying. The other, was awarded to myself, and other teachers and students I worked in partnership with, to create a video which recognized the contribution of a famous Canadian artist.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
