TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a special education teacher but my focus is high school math. I teach self contained Pre Algebra (9th grade), Algebra (10th grade), and Life Math (11th grade). My students have learning and behavioral disabilities and I am always trying new techniques in my classroom to help them be successful.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use a mix of traditional direct instruction (note packets) and hands on cooperative learning mostly through Kagan activities. My students require a lot of repetition and practice of concepts that we learn. I rely on cooperative learning for them to learn from each other, using me as a guide in the classroom.
