I have worked in the same elementary school since I graduated with a B.S. from Indiana University in 2005. Until this school year, I had taught grades 5 and 6. In 2015, I graduated with my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana Wesleyan University. This fueled my desire to create better teaching materials and to ask for a new position at my school. Therefore, this year, I am the school's Instructional/eLearning Coach. This has given me an even broader perspective of teacher and student needs in all elementary grade levels. My products are inspired by those needs.
I believe it is important for teachers to teach students to be life-long, independent learners. Therefore, I enjoy sending my students on quests to find answers and information themselves. I am also a big believer in the effective implementation of technology into the student learning experience. My students do lots of collaboration, as well as individual work, using technology.

Along with my passion for teaching comes a passion for understanding education legislation. I serve as the Co-President of my local teachers' association and am actively involved with bargaining, discussion, etc. I am happy to be on a first name basis with our state's former Superintendent of Public Instruction. I am hoping to build the same relationship with our new Superintendent.
