Inspired by Laura Ingalls Wilder, I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was in 6th grade. I followed my passion and have been teaching for over 30 years. Ironically, it's been 30 years of teaching 6th grade, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Throughout the years, I've been an Odyssey of the Mind Coach and a Coordinator for Project Citizen a civics education program sponsored by the League of Women Voters. I am a certified teacher of the Gifted and Talented. Teaching is my life long passion and I hope to teach for many years to come.
My strength as a classroom teacher is to teach the whole child and my teaching style reflects this belief. My lessons are hands-on and project-based. They are designed to encourage collaboration, team building, and personal responsibility. My goal is for every child in my classroom to be actively engaged in their learning and to show compassion for one another.
