I started out teaching 3rd grade. I taught in 3rd grade for 3 years. I love that age! I then moved to 1st grade where I love the age and the curriculum. I taught 1st grade for 3 years. When I had my daughter I had the opportunity to transfer to a school closer to home. Where I now teach 2nd grade. This is my 3rd year in 2nd grade.
Becoming a mother has changed me as a teacher. I see beyond the curriculum. Each child is somebody's baby so I take care of them, and make sure their needs are met. Each child is unique in their own respect. I teach them to meet their needs. I design materials, games, and assessments that engage students as well as match our curriculum. We have fun in my classroom, but organized fun! I'm a little OCD, but it's ok if my student's aren't. I let them be who they are. I believe in chasing the learning and not the grade. I believe in education being relevant and applicable. I believe in these kids!

I grew up in the district where I currently teach. I attended Texas Tech University, and have a Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education. My degree not only encompasses the realms of education, but also the development of a child. I understand children. I can communicate with them in a way that they feel safe and loved.
I'm constantly creating things to match our curriculum, and means something to the kids. I decided that I should share the wealth! I'm not in it for the money. What teachers are?! But rather to share the hard work I put into designing and creating so other teachers don't have to. My work is simple, and to the point. But I do always use cute font! I hope you find my work useful for your needs! Oh...and I'm a Chi Omega! And I love owls!
