TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 26 years, most of which has been in Title 1 schools. I have taught in both self-contained and departmentalized classrooms.

My teaching experience includes:

  • 2nd grade (4 years)
  • 3rd grade (17 years)
  • 4th grade (1 year)
  • 5th grade (5 years)

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy teaching with technology and reinforcing skills with games. Learning is not a spectator sport, so I look for ways to make my lessons memorable, meaningful, and engaging.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I strive every year to teach my curriculum to the very best of my ability. It is one of my personal goals to make connections with each of my students. I was very touched one year when one of my most challenging students cried on the last day of school because he was going to miss me over the summer.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Not only do I love teaching, I also love learning. My formal education history includes:

  • Bachelors degree in elementary education with a reading specialization
  • Masters degree in early childhood education
